The weather has been nice to us lately. I’ll just assume it’s because of my last blog post 🙂 This past weekend was a lot of fun. On Friday I woke up at 7 to go to my 8:30am soccer practice, went to class, lunch, Friday Prayers, made PB&J’s and handed them out to the homeless, and saw my first IMAX movie. It was an AMAZING experience. It was a documentary called Arabia and the images were incredible. After that, we explored the science museum a bit but I plan to go back because everything was pretty much shut down by the time we went. Afterwards, we went to grab dinner at Coliseum, a popular restaurant close to us, then went to a small frozen yogurt shop and discovered a very cool local band! The lead singer came by to drop off a CD for Limah. Then Limah, Kairshma and I drove to an art gallery where we saw paintings and drawings by young Sudanese refugees. It was cool because when you look closer at the paintings, the deeper meaning really shows. It’s so interesting. Then we went to watch the movie “My Name is Khan”. Oh my goodness I cried my eyes out. It was so emotional. The length of an American movie, the drama of a Bollywood movie. It was REALLY good. I am satisfied. Afterwards, we went to lookout at the city skyline. It was beautiful and I can’t wait until I can have a picnic there and fly my kites. Sunday night we had our first co-ed soccer team, which we won (GO POWER UPS!). It was so much fun. I put war paint on everyone and we had a million extra players who became cheerleaders and fans in the stands 🙂

Monday was the busiest day of my life. I did parkour for a couple of hours on some of the city rooftops and through the alley ways with some of my favorite VCU kids, and then we got frozen yogurt because it’s delicious. I had two meetings back to back and then I had my RA interview at 7:30pm. AND THEN I had my first soccer game for my all girls team (GO MOJO’S!) and we won because the other team didn’t show up 🙂 hehe.
