The other night I went to a Halaqa and we discussed gossiping and how bad it is. And we talked about how it’s so normal in conversation these days to talk about others which makes me feel DISGUSTING because that should never be something that becomes routine. It’s very true though. And those who gossip with you also gossip about you. Which seems like it’d be completely false when you think about how close you and some of your friends are, but really, they have other friends that they’re just as close to. What is keeping them from spreading what they hear? Especially when it is such a normal thing. And aren’t most of the things we gossip about really irrelevant? Yes. So from now on, even though I don’t feel like I gossip uncontrollably, I’m trying to really stop talking about people and help others to stop, too. So far, I’m doing very well and it’s no loss at all. I feel inspired :). Completely off topic, I’m not eating sweets for a week. That includes soda and coffee, which I don’t drink very often anyway. And this morning I joined a pretty legit soccer team. We had our first practice at 8:30am just to see where we’re all at skill-wise. I’m amazing at soccer… just kidding. But I love to play. It’s a lot of fun. I get tired really easily though, so I’ll need to work on that. Today, as it snows outside, I’m going rock climbing with Erin at the gym! YES.
“Great minds discuss ideas; average minds discuss events; small minds discuss people.”
That is Eleanor Roosevelt. Obviously it’s true.
