Last night a bunch of us went to chili’s to break our fast and eat iftar! iftar was at 7:44 so we planned to get to chili’s at 7:10 so it would leave time for seating and getting appetizers. we got there on time and were seated right away. our table was dirty. then we waited 15 minutes for a waiter who never showed up. we called a nearby waitress and asked her if she knew about our waiter and she took the liberty of waiting our table. it was 7:30. we ordered drinks, nachos, main courses, and desserts all at once. it was time to break our fast, but we didnt even have drinks yet. we waited another 15 minutes to break our fast. we got our drinks. and nothing else. we called a waiter nearby and he apologized and brought us nachos and salsa and cleaned our table. we were stil waiting for our actual appetizers though. we watched the people at the table next to us come and leave because they were vegetarians but got meat in all of their dishes. at 8:30 we finally got two of the 3 appetizers we ordered. then 5 minutes later we got the 2nd appetizer and all of our main courses. we had no utensils, we had to ask. a fly landed on my friend’s burger and flew onto the table and died. a piece of plastic was found in her velvet cake shot. we ate our food, it was good. after we were finished, the third appetizer was brought to our table. the waitress packed it in a to-go box because we just looked at her like she was crazy when she brought the plate after we had finished our main dishes. we waited another 20 minutes for our desserts. then another 15 for our checks. we talked to the manager and we were really nice and patient about the whole situation so he gave us a discount. it wasnt too much off though. i don’t know if it was because it was a new restaurant or what, but the service was ridiculous. the waitress was really nice about it but the kitchen kept pushing back our orders for some reason…
anyway, grabbing dinner at chili’s turned out to be a three hour ordeal.

we needed to walk it off so a friend and i went to the most beautiful hotel in the world (see photo below) and took a self-guided tour. it was gorgeous and the people were really nice. we read about the history and played the grand piano. there was a dinner party going on with a live band and my friend and i danced at the door 🙂
