Baby, it’s a fact that once it’s gone, you’ll never get it back
Hold on to your innocence
Use your common sense (you’re worth waiting for)
Honey, don’t give in, blessings come with patience
Take a deep breath
And think before you let it go
it was really hot today! in the afternoon i helped my cousin move her stuff from a hotel to an apartment. an apartment with no elevator. four stories and she was on the fourth. the boxes were really heavy and the heat was incredible. im looking forward to moving into my dorm…10th floor. at least there’s an elevator.
my friend and i went to DC and we had planned to go to the tidal basin and walk around the memorial sites BUT it just happened to be the hottest day in the past 38947 years so all we wanted was A/C! the subway took 4589 minutes to get to our stop and it was burning up in there… and then when we finally got there, we decided to go to the art museum. so we sat at the fountain for a bit and then went to the museum. BUT it closed at 5pm because it’s sunday. so we were the hottest we’ve ever been and we kept walking towards the botanical garden. i saw this guy with his son (he was around 5 yrs old) and i offered to take a picture of them together because they looked like they were having a hard time. and then after i took a couple of them together, he asked if he could take a picture with us… i didnt know what to say and my friend just looked at me. i, of course, said ‘sure!’ and he told his son to take a picture of the three of us. it was really weird. then we went to the garden. that was closed, too. we found a police car and asked him where the nearest ice cream place was. he said it was somewhere down the block. we walked down the block, got distracted by the capitol and a strange man in a trenchcoat and then got lost. we walked back towards the canadian embassy to one of the metro stations. we saw an ice cream truck on the way. the guy charged us three bucks for a lemonade ( small popsicle would’ve been $4 each!)… we got on the subway to go home, the A/C worked, and we laughed at how hot it was and how tired we were from walking. it was quite a work-out. im glad i got to hang out with my friend before i leave for college, though!
